What is Autism Spectrum Disorder?

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a neurological developmental condition that causes a child’s brain to develop differently. Children with the condition have trouble understanding social cues and learning to interact with the world around them, which leads them to be shy and have difficulty getting along with others. They have problems with communication and behaviour. Everyone affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder exhibits a variety of symptoms and difficulties in different areas to varying degrees. No two people with the condition may be the same, which is why it is called a spectrum disorder.
